Foundation stone laid for Logicenters development in Tuusula

Logicenters has celebrated a significant milestone in its development at Rykmentinportinkatu 3 in Tuusula with a foundation stone laying ceremony held on Wednesday, October 1. The ceremony brought together representatives from DEXIS, construction company Jatke Toimitilat Oy and the municipality of Tuusula.

The ceremony marks the official start of construction for the 11,400 square meters facility. The property, developed by Logicenters, will serve as a production and warehouse facility for DEXIS. It is the second facility to be built by Logicenters in the Rykmentinportti area, and the completion of the project is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.

“This building will be more than bricks and mortar. It will be a place where ideas become solutions, where customer relationships grow stronger, and where our people thrive in a modern, inspiring environment. It is an investment in innovation, in sustainability, and in the future of Finnish industry,” says Robert Befidi, President of DEXIS Imaging.

The facility at Rykmentinportinkatu 3 is designed to meet high sustainability standards and will play an important role in supporting DEXIS’ growth in the region. It will be equipped with solar panels on the roof for renewable electricity and heated with geothermal energy.

“The building is a good example of how a traditional warehouse also can function as a modern production facility. The property is designed with the longevity in mind – making sure it can serve different needs over time,” says Jarkko Äikää, Commercial Director of Logicenters Finland.

Additionally, Mayor Janne Mellin of Tuusula attended the ceremony and emphasizes the broader importance of the development for the municipality.

New logistics center for DHL in Finland

A new, state-of-the-art sorting center is currently taking shape next to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport in Finland. The property is being built directly adjacent to the runway and will serve as DHL Express’s main logistics hub in Helsinki.

The increasing need for express transport is now being met by a 16,000 m² facility, strategically located to streamline both national and international deliveries. DHL Express, the world’s leading logistics company, has previously had successful collaborations with Logicenters in several European markets.

“We are really pleased with the completion of the new logistics center. This creates the conditions for growth and helps Finnish companies reach the global market. At the same time, it is a significant investment in the well-being and occupational safety of our employees. The new sorting center is currently undergoing full testing, including the advanced sorting system with a capacity of 6,500 packages per hour. The facility is designed to bring together multiple modes of transport under one roof – from air freight to general cargo and vehicle transport – making the logistics chain both faster and smoother.

The project is being run in accordance with Logicenters’ sustainability principles. The property will be equipped with geothermal heating and solar panels, and applications for both LEED Platinum certification and energy class A have already been initiated.

The new sorting center will begin operation in stages during the fall of 2025.

New lease agreement with Warasto Finland

Logicenters has signed a deal with Warasto Finland to develop a new, temperature-controlled warehouse in Lieto, Finland. The new warehouse will include frozen, chilled, and room temperature parts. The completion is scheduled for autumn 2026.

The facility, covering a total area of approximately 12,400 m², will be located at Siiventie 21, Lieto. This project presents an opportunity for Logicenters to expand its offerings beyond traditional warehouse facilities.

Warasto Finland Oy is a local third-party logistics company that continues to expand in Finland. Over the past few years, the company has centralized its business operations with Logicenters. The new warehouse will feature several rooms with reduced temperatures to support the company’s storage and transportation for food businesses.

The planned property is located in the municipality of Lieto and provides good access to major highways in Finland – making it well suited for logistics operations.

New terminal for DACHSER now open

In March last year, Logicenters broke ground on a new logistics center for the Finnish division of DACHSER. Now, the terminal has officially opened, strategically located near Tampere-Pirkkala Airport.

Situated at Varikontie 34, the facility spans 5,100 square meters on a 21,800-square-meter plot. This project marks another milestone in Logicenters’ expansion and strengthens its position among its growing customer bases. The new terminal is DACHSER’s second logistics center in Finland, following the first in Kerava. The handover of the facility was completed in late January 2025.

The Finnish logistics company, specializing in warehouse, transport, and intralogistics services, has signed a lease agreement for a cutting-edge warehouse space in Kytömaankatu.

The new facility is set to be completed by winter of 2025, with GLi Express Oy moving in during the spring as the second confirmed tenant. DSV Solutions Oy has moved into new facilities in Vantaa

Logicenters newly developed facility in Vantaa has welcomed its tenant. Logistics company DSV Solutions Oy has now moved into the property with a total area of 11 000 m².

In the beginning of 2023, Logicenters acquired land in Vantaa, just north of the city center of Helsinki. At the same time it was announced that one of the world’s leading logistics companies, DSV Solutions Oy, had signed a long-term lease for an 11 000 m² property on the site. The facility is now fully completed and DSV Solutions Oy has moved into their new warehouse.

“We are very happy to finally welcome DSV to their new property. The whole project has worked perfectly smooth together with the construction company Jatke and with DSV. We are now looking forward to starting the cooperation with the tenant, that will move into a modern property with proximity to Helsinki and great connections to other parts of Finland“, says Jarkko Äikää, Commercial Director at Logicenters.

The new property achieved the environmental certification BREEAM Very Good and is equipped with solar cells on the roof. The logistics center is located near Ring III, where you can easily reach Helsinki and other major cities in the southern parts of Finland. The property is also only ten minutes by car from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

Ruukki and Nrep Logicenters to deliver unique logistics center in Finland using Ruukki LowCarbon products

Ruukki Construction, part of SSAB, has signed an agreement with real estate investor Nrep’s logistics arm Logicenters to deliver a unique logistics center in Tampere. The lifecycle emissions of the building will be significantly smaller than usual, as the walls will be made of innovative Ruukki^® LowCarbon products.

Ruukki will supply sandwich panels and design profiles in the Ruukki^® LowCarbon product family to a logistics center that Logicenters is building in Tampere, Finland. The installation contractor for the steel elements is Teräselementti Oy. The 30,000 m² property will feature approximately 10,000 m² of sandwich panels made of next generation recycled-based SSAB Zero^™ steel and 500 m² of design profiles made of SSAB Fossil-free™ steel.

The choice of Ruukki^® LowCarbon products means the climate impact of the building envelope will be up to 50% lower than products made of standard steel.

The pilot products in the LowCarbon product range launched by Ruukki in May will be delivered to the customer in the second and third quarters of 2024, and the building is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024.

“Ruukki’s low-carbon building products are a perfect fit for our sustainability goals and state-of-the-art logistics center. Besides choosing products with low carbon qualities, we are also investing in energy efficiency during use by installing solar panels on the roof and by using geothermal heat in heating. We are aiming for BREEAM Excellent environmental certification for the property,” says Sanna Vikström, Development Manager at Logicenters.

Löytötex Oy becomes Logicenters first tenant in Hervanta

Logicenters upcoming property in Southeast Tampere has secured its first tenant. The new warehouse will be completed in early 2025, with Löytötex Oy moving in later in the spring.

It is now clear that the family business Löytötex will be Logicenters very first tenant in the upcoming property in Hervanta. The company has nine retail stores around Pirkanmaa and sells textiles, cosmetics, detergents, animal food, dry food, household goods and other home products for the whole family both in-store and online.

”We are very pleased to sign the first agreement in Hervanta, especially since it is with a local service provider who has a strong presence in the area. The modern property will be developed according to Logicenters environmental profile, and we know it will contribute positively to Löytötex’s future logistics operations”, says Jarkko Äikää, Commercial Director at Logicenters.

The property is located near E12 and E63 with direct connections to Southern and Northern Finland. From the warehouse on Kytömaankatu to the city center of Tampere, it is only a 17-minute drive. The new property will have solar panels installed on the roof and heating via geothermal energy – with the ambition to obtain the environmental certification BREEAM excellent.

Logicenters has acquired a site area of 25,000 m² in Tuusula, Finland. The company plans to develop a logistics center of 10,000 m² with construction starting in the third quarter of 2024. Potential tenants are able to move into the property after the summer of 2025.
