  Logicenters has signed a letter of intent with Axfood regarding the development and leasing of a logistics facility in Bålsta. The future logistics facility will be one of the largest and most modern in Europe for the distribution of food for both shops and e-commerce.

  Logicenters has now signed a LOI with Axfood. This refers to the development of a logistics facility in Bålsta which is to beleased to Dagab, a purchasing and logistics company within the Axfood Group. The facility will be just over 100,000 m² in size and will have modern specifications. Logicenters will develop the logistics facility.

  “Developing a facility with an area equivalent to 14 football pitches will be a major project for us. We are very proud that Axfood has chosen to work with us and the letter of intent further proves that our offer is competitive,” says Matthias Kettelhoit, Commercial Head at Logicenters.

  The site is strategically located at Håbo Lundby 2:8, just north of Stockholm. This is an attractive location, with close proximity to the international airport, the E18 motorway and the city of Stockholm. In addition, railway sidings run all the way into the site, which will facilitate the future transport infrastructure.

  The logistics facility will be one of the largest and most modern in Europe for the distribution of food for both retail and e-commerce. Standing thirty metres tall, the facility will accommodate refrigerated and freezer storage and will have environmental certification, something that is in line with Logicenters’ strategy on sustainability and energy efficiency. The logistics facility will be fully operational in 2023 and will handle both deliveries and order picking for both Axfood’s retail stores and e-commerce customers. The establishment will also create many job opportunities.

  “With a joint highly automated logistics centre – for all temperature zones – we will be both more efficient and more flexible in addressing the future development in the food retail industry. This will also strengthen our customer offering, as we will be able to keep an expanded assortment in stock and fulfil orders faster and more sustainably,” says Nicholas Pettersson, President of Dagab, Axfood’s purchasing and logistics company.

  A facility in Landskrona marks the first step into the Skåne market for real estate provider Logicenters. A modern logistics facility featuring roof-top solar panels is to be constructed at the Kronan business park. The 24,000 m² property is scheduled to be completed in 2020 and Thomas Cook Travel Retail will be the first tenant to move in.

  As a market leader and developer of modern logistics facilities, Logicenters has a significant presence in logistics hubs in the Nordic region. The company is now establishing itself on the Skåne market via a new development on Företagsvägen in Kronan business park, an excellent logistics location in the Öresund region. The facility will be located in a very visible site along the E6 highway; companies such as Santa Maria and Oatly have been present in the business park for several years now.

  “We are delighted to have found the right location for us in Skåne. Landskrona is investing heavily in logistics and we are positively inclined towards more projects here in the future. It is gratifying that Thomas Cook has chosen to work with us and we look forward to a long-term cooperation. For those who are looking for a good logistics site in the Öresund region, the other half of the property is still available,” says Matthias Kettelhoit, Commercial Head at Logicenters.

  In addition to the facility’s modern specifications, solar panels will be installed on the roof, which is in line with Logicenters’ strategy on sustainability and energy efficiency.  Construction begins immediately, and the facility is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2020. The tenant Thomas Cook Travel Retail will utilise 12,000 m² of the property’s total of 24,000 m², divided into 10,000 m² of warehouse space, a 1,500 m² mezzanine and 500 m² of office space.

  “Our new location at Kronan business park will enable us to increase capacity for our online shopping service Airshoppen, from which our travellerscan pre-order their duty-free goods. Logicenters is an obvious partner because they are able to meet our high logistics requirements, including that the property is as energy efficient and sustainable as possible,” says Magnus Persson, Warehouse Logistics Manager at Thomas Cook Travel Retail.

  Logicenters announces that it will develop a 14,872 m² modern logistics property near Copenhagen in Denmark. With almost 12 metres to the roof, this modern cross-docking facility will enjoy added flexible specifications for future use. The property is scheduled to complete in 2020, at which point the tenant, Bring Danmark, will move in its operations.

  A new 14,872 m² modern logistics property will be completed by Logicenters in April 2020 at Ventrupparken 4 in Greve, a suburb to the Danish capital, Copenhagen. The majority of the building has already been leased to Bring Danmark. The facility will be particularly visible as it’s positioned adjacent to the busy E20 motorway leading in to Copenhagen and further in to Sweden.

  Due to the added height of the building of almost 12 metres, it will be possible to do two-story sorting and a 2,000 m² mezzanine level will be fitted in as offices. The facility is also being built with the long-term aim to be able to adapt to future logistics needs, for example by using it as a warehouse.

  The facility will have a clear environmental profile and will be equipped with solar panels on the roof. Also, the safety of the employees is highly prioritised with the construction of a footbridge leading people from the car park to the mezzanine offices while avoiding any pedestrians passing the lorry terminals.

  Working with ÅF-Infrastucture, Logicenters has launched an initiative to help customers and partners become more energy smart. A recently completed pilot project demonstrates that it is not only the environment which benefits from the industry improving its energy efficiency.

  On behalf of Logicenters, ÅF-Infrastructure has initiated a project to help companies improve energy efficiency and to reduce their climate impact. A thorough mapping of potential actions in energy use was carried out for one of Logicenters’ partners. The result shows that there is both money and energy to be saved, in addition to lowering CO2 emissions.

  The focus of the work has been on optimising operations and the facility as well as removing costs that do not generate a value. For example, by optimising lighting and ventilation, a company can lower its energy use without investing significant capital.

  “The project also includes work aimed at educating the company’s employees. It is important to raise awareness and change people’s attitudes and approach towards energy use. We also ensure that machinery and equipment are only used whenreally necessary”, says Björn Rinde, energy consultant at ÅF-Infrastructure.

  The results showed that there is great potential for savings. By undertaking simple energy-related actions, operational costs in the pilot project could be reduced by as much as 13 percent with an additional positive effect on indoor climate. In this case, the cost of work carried out would pay for itself in just six months. Logicenters believes that there will be an increasing demand for energy effective solutions. The goal is to be able to offer all partners a similar approach in the long term.

  Logicenters, the largest owner and developer of modern logistics properties in
  the Nordic region, introduces their first solar PV project starting construction during spring 2019. The project involves installing five solar PV systems on five logistics properties in Denmark, and will be Logicenters largest environmental investment to date.

  This spring, Logicenters will undertake a large solar PV project in Denmark. Logicenters won the Danish Energy Agency’s tender to install rooftop solar panels on five logistics facilities across Denmark. The project is Logicenters’ largest environmental investment to date and the first one in solar energy. The solar panels are estimated to produce 5.9 GWh of green energy per year resulting in an annual CO² emission saving of 3 400 tons.

  ”We are very happy with the opportunity to strengthen the renewable profile of our properties. We are turning the roof areas of our properties into an economic resource and at the same time, this enables us to supply our tenants with green energy,” comments Johan Hallgren Madsen, responsible for Energy Performance at NREP/Logicenters.

  The installation of the solar PV systems begins in spring 2019 and is planned to be completed approximately two months later. The solar panels will be installed on properties that are located in Greve, Horsens, Høje Taastrup, Ishøj and Aarhus. In the foreseeable future, Logicenters hopes to carry out installations of rooftop solar PV systems on several of their facilities in the Nordic region.

  “Green energy will be essential in the future for modern logistics, and this project enables us to help our customers reach their sustainability goals and to supply them with green power. Modern logistics is undergoing rapid green transition and electrification. Logicenters is keen to provide the infrastructure supporting our customers in their transition,” comments Matthias Kettelhoit, Commercial Head of Logicenters.

  “Logicenters has an ambition to create sustainable real estate products and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
